    Have you ever booked a room, only to find they lost your reservation?

    I always check in with the intended hotel a few days prior to arrival. Today I checked early, as I wanted to cancel, as we got a better offer with a friend who was going to cancel hers and give it to us. Her place was closer to the venue and a better place. So, I phoned the Westin, where we reserved over a month ago, only to find they had no record of us.

    Thankfully, for any time for this to happen, it would be this time. Otherwise, we may have been screwed out of a decent location.

    I can't recall if that's happened to us but you're definitely doing the smart thing by confirming your reservation.

    Yeah, the only times I have gotten reservations was when I booked way in advance online. I think the bots take care of all that and I have always been surprised when I arrived and they look at their computer and seem as if they expected me.

    Not like some sleepy clerk writing my name in a ledger book with a quill pen.

    Yes, I highly recommend checking up on your reservations after making your reservations, especially if you are booking through a third party, ie, Expedia, Orbitz, Booking.com, etc.

    To answer the question, No, that's never happened with me.

    we were in disney world once at the grand floridian.. it was booked thru a travel agent (american express vacations i believe).. we had vouchers and everything. then no rooms. then they had no changing tables in the ladies room because "its a victorian style hotel" lol so my sis changed the diapers on the rug in the middle of the lobby... the manager all of a sudden came running because of the "scene" and found two rooms... hmmm how did that happen?
