Books vs. Kindle: your opinion Empty Books vs. Kindle: your opinion

What's your opinion of books versus kindle? Personally, I much prefer books; they're more organic and softer on my eyesight. Besides, I look at a computer all day, no kindle for me.

I never read a Kindle but the concept seems kind of underwhelming to me.

I lean more toward books. I really like the idea of the Kindle or Nook. But you have to deal with Amazon or Barnes & Noble. The e-books from one company can't be put on the other. And I'm concerned about paying about $150 for the reader, buying a lot of books to put on it & dropping it or it getting damaged in some way. But there's something about having the physical book in your hands. I would never want to see the readers actually replace books.

I'm not sold on the idea. As the previous poster said, I'm not big on the idea of having to spend $150 for the reader alone, and then pay additional fees for all the books. Where real books are concerned, $150 for the reader alone, depending on where I can get them that could buy over 1,000 real books for that price.

Books for me. If someone gave me a kindle, I wouldn't say no, but I far prefer books. I always have several on the go at once and I make good use of the library. Plus, a kindle prolly wouldn't like coming into the bathtub with me, while I know a book will survive a dunking, if rather weathered following an accidental dip.
