    Garcelle Beauvais knows that her fraternal twins, Jax and Jaid, have different personalities, but based on comments she made at the Step Up Women's Network 8th Annual Inspiration Awards, she seems to wish that sometimes little Jax could be more like his brother.

    "Jax is into everything pink," she told People. "Yesterday, I tried to talk him out of buying pink Crocs at Target."

    I'm not sure why it was such a big deal for the I Know Who Killed Me star, but she went to great lengths to ensure the 3 ½ year old would not be sporting the rosy footwear. Instead of telling him the truth (presumably something like, 'Mommy doesn't want you wearing pink sandals because it doesn't conform to her rigid ideas about gender'), she told Jax she'd buy him the sandals, then stashed them behind the cash register.

    "We got home, and he goes, 'Where are my Crocs?' I'm like, 'They forgot to give them to us!'" she laughed.

    What do you think? Is Garcelle Beauvais justified in trying to shape her son's preferences, or does she need an intervention from let-kids-be-kids parents like the Jolie-Pitts?

    Well, I'll tell you what ~ I've had my share of offended parents when I guessed their children's sex wrong, and it was always because their little boys wore long hair. One even had those little plastic barrettes in his braids which ware typically seen in small Afro-American girls. If the child doesn't have a problem with that then fine. But the parents have no right to get mad over it.

    And obviously Garcell WOULD have a problem with it, so she's smart to avoid it.
