Well for co-workers, our numbers our posted here at the office.
And for acquaintances, if I feel comfortable enough with you, then I don't mind giving my number to you.

Even tho my phone number is listed in the phone book (who even looks at those things?) I don't like a lot of ppl knowing it because I don't want calls at night after I've settled in or gone to bed. Some ppl don't know not to call after 10 pm.
If I need to give out a number I usually give my cell, which is turned off most of the time. I will leave it on for the time that I wish to accept a call from that person - then it is silenced for the night.

Phone numbers are posted at work, but the ones that people don't want passed on, say "unlisted" next to them, like mine.
One thing that really amazes me is in stores when the cashier asks for your phone # to put into their system, how many people don't think and just readily give it out. I never give out my number to anyone I don't know and tell the clerk sorry, I don't give it out.
Same with stores asking for your email--so they can spam the crap out of you, while they telemarket you now that they have your phone # too.

Got a house cell & a personal cell. I think every person on the planet has the house cell number. But I only give the personal cell number to certain people.

Yeah I don't care about giving out my cell number randomly. If they call too much, I'll just screen or block them.
