Slaughterhouse-Five

Based on Vonnegut's real-life experiences as an American POW of the Germans during WWII including surviving the Allied bombing of Dresden. One of my favorite books. They made a so-so movie of it in the early 70's. I wouldn't mind if they tried again. It was banned in many communities. In August 2011, the novel was banned at the Republic High School in Missouri. The Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library countered by offering 150 free copies of the novel to Republic High School students on a first come, first served basis. (Fuck you, Republic H.S. )

I liked it, but I was...I think 14-15 when I read it, and didn't understand it very well. Though whenever I recall what happened to the men in the showers, there ain't a man in the room who don't go 'OOF!' I need to get around to rereading that sometime.

Well I think you've told us that you have piles of books you haven't gotten to yet but I would recommend adding him to the pile.

I probably have a couple of his laying around somewhere truth be known, it'd just be a matter of digging them out and finding them.
