As my most recent thread in the Cartoon Chamber explains, I recently found some tapes of the original Jonny Quest series from the 60s, which I had never seen before, we saw the 90s rendition, Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, and decided to check them out. I found them very entertaining and had a horrible thought, how bad would it be if one of the next things they decided to remake was Jonny Quest? And it would seem that's just what somebody's planning to do, on IMDb there is a link to a new project under the name 'Jonny Quest' but there is no date to it and since it's only in development, there is literally no information given about it, what it's about, etc. But if it is what I think it is, I find it weird that I could just think about that because I usually do not peg what'll be redone next, but this time it looks like my suspicions might be right.

Really, a lot of old toons are being remade. I was surprised to read about a Flintsone thing in the works. I bet there are more than we are aware of that are in the pre-production mode.

Re: How's this for coincidence?
Oh yeah, a new and more adult Flintstones, just what we need, .
Though in regards to Jonny Quest, I wasn't thinking in terms of another series of it, I was thinking about if somebody tried to make a movie of it, and especially how bad it would be if they tried to make it live action. Of course I don't know how likely that would be, but you know, they did it with Speed Racer and I wouldn't put it past somebody to try it with this either.

It annoys me having all the remakes around. It just goes to show the lack of creativity in writings/production companies. I also think that it is somewhat disrespectful towards the original. There are some things that just should not be "tweaked"

Totally agree, and a few of those things that 'should not be tweaked', would include Dukes of Hazzard, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Fright Night, Scooby Doo (seriously, why the hell did they think anybody would want a live action version?), and I don't care what anybody says, the last two Batman movies were completely unecessary and if you want to talk disrespectful towards the originals, I think Bob Kane would be rolling 360s in his grave if he could see what's become of the Batman franchise.
And I have to agree that it shows MAJOR lack of creativity. We don't pay good money to see something that's basically advertised as 'we ran out of ideas, so more of the same', what the hell?
Hoo boy, my mother and I saw a Buster Keaton short tonight called the Electric House, 1922 he came up with ideas you would never see today WHEN the technology available could make them a reality. Seriously, I think more people need to look to the far older movies and see what people were able to come up with when their resources and effects and potentials were very limited, and then take it against today when they have the big budgets and all the easy shortcut effects, and see how they just recycle the same garbage again and again and again and again.
