What Didn't You Like About School?

When you were growing up....what did you like the least about school? For me it was the early start time. That 8 o'clock shit wasn't cool.

Some of the teachers sucked.

I would say the time too. I never did and never will like getting up early in the morning. I always thought school should start around 10 am.

What I liked least was that it was basically my job and I had to go.

I didn't like how it was five days and the weekneds went too fast! Much like work!

I hated the cliques in school. In my school there was a very diverse economic diffusion. Being poor sucked, and the popular kids who won all the awards were the rich ones and it sucked.

Uh, being a gay kid in a small-minded, poorly funded urban school?

It would easier to list the things I did like.

I liked... uh... I liked how close it was to my house, so it provided an easy escape.

I have to agree about it starting so damn early, I HATED getting up at 7 o' clock every morning. And yes, I hated it was so long and the weekends were always too short, I dreaded Sunday nights because it meant going to bed early and starting school the next day!

One high school teacher I had, went to school with my mother, when she was a kid. All through high school they hated each other, so when she somehow found out I was the daughter of her nemesis, she had it in for me and made my Honors English class experience a living hell. I'd get lower grades for the same quality work as everyone else, even when another classmate and I got onto her and tried an experiment: we each wrote our assignment, but the other person put their name to it, and didn't this teacher give mine the sucky grade even though it was written by the class valedictorian, her "pet" ???

After that, I started coming to class early before the teacher got there, and I would raise all the shades in the room and make nooses out of the pull-cords that were left hanging! It was great to see her mortified expression when she would see all these nooses hanging around the room on a daily basis!
