Do you believe in exorcisms?

This definitely became a hot topic in the 1970s after the movie broke out in theaters, but what about today? Does anybody here believe that exorcisms actually work? I'm on the fence about the whole thing, but I DO wonder why the Catholic church acts like it has a corner on that particular market. I looked up how to perform an exorcism and it goes back to things that would more commonly be found in the Catholic churches than any other denomination or religion, Mary, Saint Christopher, the other saints, a priest's purple stole, etc.

Well, I don't believe in demons or evil spirits let alone that they can "possess" someone so the answer is no.

I believe in some paranormal type stuff but not demon possession.

If you are a Christian, how would you rectify not believing in exorcism.

Mark 5:1-20
They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
When he had come out of the boat,
immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
who had his dwelling in the tombs.

Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,
because he had been often bound with fetters and chains,
and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces.
Nobody had the strength to tame him.

Always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains,
he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.

When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,
and crying out with a loud voice, he said,
"What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God?
I adjure you by God, don’t torment me."

For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"
He asked him, "What is your name?"
He said to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Now there was on the mountainside a great herd of pigs feeding.
All the demons begged him, saying,
"Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."
At once Jesus gave them permission.
The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs.
The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea,
and they were drowned in the sea.

Yeah, but that was Jesus' work, His doing, these days it's men of the church doing it and I have no faith in men of the church and little faith in the church or any church in itself for that matter.

Maybe that would explain why I am the way I am. But I doubt it...my great great great great great something or other grandmother was a bit notorious for her belief that people didn't have to go to church to communicate with God or to be close to Him, and I for one have never set foot in a church in my life. Not that I'm against it, but all the ones around here are more about social gatherings than actually talking about God and Jesus and Heaven and salvation.
