Man, as a kid, for the limited exposure I had to creepy stuff I was very macabre as a child, I loved ghost stories and movies about haunted houses, killers, any of that stuff that I could see, because I didn't have any books like that though I wrote a few stories about stuff like that, I dove into it. I remember one year around Halloween I asked my dad to tell me some ghost stories, and he didn't know any, I remember I was so disappointed, I thought that was something all fathers knew about.
And I remember my brother trying to discourage me from thinking about stuff like that, I don't remember why but I guess they were trying to keep me from becoming a full fledged ghoul who was obsessed with morbid stuff or something...but it sure as hell didn't work, I never outgrew it and I never stopped thinking about it. And now that I'm older I think it could be a decent way to make a living, people love horror movies, they love ghost stories, there's always a market for good ideas in that field.
