It's been an interesting story, but at the same time it is a big kick in the teeth to history. Like Victor – Irene, IMO, is one of those characters who is more powerful dead than alive. In death, she was mysterious and intriguing, because while piecing together bits and pieces of her life to make it make sense, there are still questions that are left hauntingly unanswered. In life, she's now going to have to account for over thirty years of questions, and atone for her old deeds (as well as her new one.) Realistically, she can't, so they'll either gloss over it, or kill her off again before she has the chance to.
