TBS Cancels 'Lopez Tonight'



TBS has pulled the plug on George Lopez’s late night show Lopez Tonight.

Here’s the statement from the network: “TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of Lopez Tonight. Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer.”

“TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air,” the statement concluded.

WILL YOU MISS watching Lopez Tonight?

Was never watching it regularly but it was decent from what I did see. I'm surprised they're cancelling it.

What the hell? He was entertaining, it was a good show, he had good guests on, why are they canceling it?

I seen only a few times, he's not funny to me AT ALL!

I agree that he isn't very funny. Also I didn't much like his sitcom either.

Nah, his sitcom was funny as hell. His mother was freaking hilarious.

And as it turnsout, Benny in the show is based partly on his real mother, but VERY much off his real grandmother. George was on a TV show a while back, and he was explaining she NEVER told him she was proud of him until just a few years ago right before she went senile...and even for all the crap she did, he took care of her until she died. But he explained when he was growing up, like we hear on the sitcom, he was NEVER told by anybody that they were proud of him, he didn't know families did that, the first time anybody said anything of meaning to him about doing what he wanted with his life, was some guy talking at his school who he didn't even know and couldn't even remember. That's pretty bad when the first inspiration you get comes from a complete stranger.

I never watched either show because I don't think he's that funny.

I saw it a few times, but despite some decent guests, I find Lopez himself a bit too hyperactive and corny.

George Lopez is the silly "sidekick," he's not the star.
