I am very proud to report that my step-daughter got her first teaching job today!!
She graduated this year and interviewed at a school for a sixth/seventh grade split classroom position. She wasn't hoping for the older grades, but wanted to get a job to get her foot in the door. She ideally wanted Kinder or first. Anyway, they offered her a position in the split first/second grade, which she did not know would be an option.
So, she is very excited. It is at a private school in a small-ish town, which is exactly the type she wanted to teach at. She didn't want to go to a large school, if at all possible. So, it is a very awesome day for her!!
