I watched it. I thought Farrah did a fine job.

One of Farrah's best performances. Loved the movie. What was that other movie she made where the guy tried to rape her and she ended up tying him up and putting him in the fire place as her prisoner. I saw it not long ago and it was very good, another fine performance by Farrah.

This was good. In the apartment scene where he throws her school books, he really did break a couple of her ribs and his fist when he punched a wall.
Even though his mother has played in many things, including Big Love, I will always remember her for this part.

it's amazing that almost 30 years later people are still so torn about this case. I've been in an ongoing debate for about 3 days with some nitwit on the movie's message board who says she should've gone to prison for premeditated murder because sabes que 'if you don't want to be beaten, JUST leave'. Never mind the fact she got divorced, moved, and got a restraining order, and he moved into her new home anyway, yeah LEAVE makes a lot of sense then, doesn't it? Actually the details of her case remind me a lot of Yvette Cade's case, except her husband set HER on fire after a judge declined renewing her restraining order because he didn't care about battered women and also told her 'JUST get a divorce and get out of my way'.

Technically, it WAS premeditated murder. That is one of my problems with abuse cases. Usually if the man who routinely beats his wife accidentally kills her, he goes to jail for manslaughter because he beat her for years without killing her. When the beaten woman retaliates and kills the abuser, they usually get life--- as they have had years of abuse to premediate it.
Never agreed with that philosophy. Nancy McKeon was in a good movie that was similar-- A Cry for Help: The Tracey Thurman Story 1989. The ending of that is CRAZY!
