Besides clothes, have you ever made any charitable donations?

I've donated to the American Cancer Society and the Jimmy Fund at times. I also donate old sheets and towels to the local vet's office, if that counts, too. LOL

Nothing other than, little charitable contributions when they ask at the grocery store.

Couple of bucks here and there to the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. We donate used books (in like new condition) to our library.

I am a regular blood donor (over 5 gallons to date).

Don't know if it counts as a donation but I am a member of the ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, NAACP, Special Olympics, Human Rights Campaign and The Naturist Society.

I make donations to the Red Cross and other disaster relief orgs when needed.

Glad to hear there are people out there like you who do that on a regular basis! Part of what the general public doesn't realize, is that blood components only last so long, and if they aren't used, they must be discarded.

Platelets are only good for 5 days, and red cell units last anywhere from 28-42 days depending on preservative used, and if they've been irradiated to kill off any stray white cells that could cause a reaction in the recipient.

Most of the time where I work, we use up our supply before the outdates, but there's still a need for a regular re-stocking at the Red Cross to replace what's used.

So keep donating! I've actually been ousted, permanently, from all donor lists, after having had cancer, so I can't contribute any other way aside from doing the lab/blood bank portion as a worker.

I donate money every month to a children's school and the veterans. I have been donating to the children's school since I was 16 years old.
