Ironing

How talented are you with the ol' iron? Ever burn your clothes while ironing them?

I've always been pretty good with the iron...never burned anything while ironing.

I'm not sure how long straighteners have been around, but we've never had one growing up, so back in the day my older sister/aunts used to have me straighten their hair with an iron. They'd have their hair permed, but every now and then for a different look, they'd have me iron it straight.

Pretty good I would say.

Ironing is woman's work.













I kid, but it's one of my LEAST favorite household chores. I'd rather clean the toilet.

Most of our stuff doesn't have to be ironed, and the only thing I personally have ever ironed was my grandmother's curtains. Since my mom was there to help, obviously they weren't burnt.

I iron by putting it in the dryer for a few minutes.

Most days I don't care about looking like an unmade bed. I can de-wrinkle if I have to.

My Mama taught me to iron when I was a kid so I am pretty good at it, never burned any clothes. I use a Rowenta Iron and they are pretty good:

Not good at it, but I can play it enough to not look frumpy.

Speaking of which, I need to get a new one. Mine isn't heating up as fast anymore.
