Do you own any expensive paintings, vases, sculpture, etc., etc.? If so, what? If not, would you shell out a fortune for a piece of pricey art?

Re: Expensive art
No and only if I had it like that and it was a sound investment. But I'm not into art like that so I doubt it.

Re: Expensive art
depends on what you call expensive---- my brother calls hundreds expensive.
I bought a hand drawn Disney lithograph for several hundred dollars years ago, and not it goes for over $1000. Does that count?

Re: Expensive art
I have a foto by David Vance, a local fotografer who specializes in male studies.
The subject is Ashtyn Long, a gorgeous young man whom I've had as a MySpace friend for years and now on Facebook. David did quite a few studies of Ashtyn and he is in a couple of published books, so I went ahead and bought a print for $300. Not as an investment but because I like it.
Half the beauty is the model - the other by the fotografer.
Here is a better shot of the print (some blue shift in my foto)

Re: Expensive art
No. I wouldn't buy expensive art just to have something expensive. I would need to be well off enough to be able to throw money away on something frivolous....and even then it wouldn't become a hobby.
