| Do you use seat protectors every time? I ALWAYS do! I would never sit on a bare toilet seat. | |

| I try to squat, but never use protectors. They are not common around here. But, I rarely use public toilets except for nasty porta potties at races. And that is the grossest of things possible. | |

| I carry hand sanitizer in my bag and I always wipe the seat off, THEN put the seat protector on it, THEN squat. And this is in a clean public restroom. I would never use a dirty/nasty one. | |

| I guess I'm the only one here who prefers not to bother with the paper covers. But I don't find myself using the public restrooms much anyway, here and there at the library, at Wal-Mart, once at the court house, I'm not worried, they say there are actually more germs on the kitchen table, granted probably very different kinds of germs, but I don't worry about it. | |

| Strips of TP do more harm than good, IMO. I tried not to but sometimes it just seems like all these "protector" things do is make the situation worse. | |

Same for those motion-sensor sinks...they took the handles off the faucets because they think that improves the germ situation, sabes que there was a report on the radio saying those kinds of faucets actually have MORE germs in them due to the way they're rigged up to work without taps. And WHAT is up with the self flushing toilets?

And WHAT is up with the self flushing toilets? Show of hands. How many of you have walked into a public toilet stall to find that a previous occupant left their handiwork for you to admire?

And WHAT is up with the self flushing toilets? And I'll never really get the appeal of automatic soap dispensers. If you're washing your hands with the soap, does it really matter if the pump is germy? And if it's to save soap, you're probably going to force people to take even more by giving them so little each time.

| ^^^^I WOULD be if it actually worked. Yet it seems like I just as ofoten find that scene in a self flusher than I do a regular handle terlet! | |

| Love the seats that automatically paper themselves, flush, then push the "bad paper" away down a hole only to refresh with new paper! that was cool.
speaking of toilets... there was a great documentary on Current TV about the lack of toilets in the world --- very interesting. check it out.

And WHAT is up with the self flushing toilets? That was based on a study at the ones used at Johns Hopkins Hospital because their standard method of disinfection was not effective. This was in a high risk hospital setting, not a public rest room.

| I NEVER sit on public toilet seats without either a seat protector or toilet paper covering it. I don't know whose dirty ass sat down on it before me. | |

I've never had an automatic toilet fail to flush but I've seen plenty of manual toilets where the person before me didn't bother to flush. The one criticism I have for the automatics is they make it difficult to give a courtesy flush.

Maybe women are just more likely to flush.

| I try my damnedest to NOT resort to using a public restroom but on those occasions when it's THAT serious, I sure do put down a toilet protector or strips of toilet paper to avoid my skin touching the raw seat. It's no secret that many guys have terrible AIM and tend to wet up the seat. | |
