If I ever did have a kid I would want one of my own but I am not opposed to non-biological kids.

I'm 38 and no kids. I have accepted the fact that I will not have any. Every once in awhile, I get that maternal longing.. then visit my sister's house full of a bunch of chaos. So I return to my quiet apt, and enjoy.

I have no known biological offspring (2 suspected but not confirmed)
I inherited a stepdaughter when she was 13 that was it for child rearing. Today, she and my grandsons by her are about the only family I have in South Florida.
My wife couldn't have any more kids with me - something she said she regretted.
I did take in Gerald, a street waif for about half a year.
That was my paternal instincts at work - he was about 11 and I was 35. It was fun being a parent with all the extra duties required and I coulda done it for the long run if necessary but he went back to the his mom in the projects.
