| Does it bother you when roles in television/film are recast? When an actor leaves, would you rather the role be recast or that the character just be written out? | |

| It depends. IF the actor is a supporting character or recurring role, then I don't mind so much. But if they are a main character, recasting the role is very annoying (especially if the show has been on for a while). One of the most irritating recasts in movies that I can remember recently was when they replaced Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle for Iron Man 2. That was completely ridiculous and unnecessary. Not only was Howard better in the role, but other than being black, Cheadle doesn't look or act ANYTHING like Terrence Howard. They might as well have cast Shia Labouff as Rodie instead! | |

| Guess it depends on the role but for the most part i adapt unless the 2nd actor is just SO different from the 1st that it becomes a distraction. | |

| Yeah it bothers me because you become used to the actor. If the new actor is good I usually get used to them and sometimes they are better than the original actor like Roger Howarth vs. Trevor St. John in OLTL, I liked Trevor a whole lot more than RH. | |

| Sometimes yeah, like replacing the skinny dark Aunt Vivien on Fresh Prince with a heavier lighter one, they really couldn't find anybody who looked more like the original? | |

| Yeah, what they said. It depends. I don't watch TV that much so I largely wouldn't give a shit who gets recast or written out of a show. | |

| So long as the replacement actor isn't so miscast for the previously established role that it interferes with suspension of disbelief. Aunt Viv #2 fell into that category | |
