DUBLIN, Ohio — A Dublin mother has been accused of raping her 10-month-old son, videotaping the assault and sending the video to her boyfriend in Michigan.

The Franklin County grand jury indicted Ashley Jessup, 24, on four felony counts: two counts of rape, one count of endangering children and one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, NBC station WCMH reported.

The indictment accused Jessup of performing sexual acts on the child on Aug. 30. Columbus police arrested her Aug. 31. It was not clear what led to her arrest.

Jessup was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bail, CBS station WPBC reported.

WPBC said that the child's father traveled from Michigan to attempt to gain custody of the child. The station said the child was staying with a maternal grandmother while authorities sorted out the custody issue.

Jessup is to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Franklin County common pleas court.

I think we should wait and see what actually becomes of this before rushing to judgement. The article said "has been accused of", not "convicted of". I want more infomration on this. Who is accusing her? What exactly is she accused of? What was the motive? What is the condition of the child? What is her condition? Is there any proof of this? The article said "It was not clear what led to her arrest." There is just not enough information here for me to make a judgement yet. Clearly, IF she is guilty of what she is accused of, then she has some "craziness" issues.

If there is a video tape that is all the evidence the authorities need.There is a lot of disturbed people out there and
this is another example for an allegation like this to even surface is very disturbing.

Key words: IF. We do not know if there is actually a video tape OR what exactly it might show (at least not according to the article).

It says she allegedly sent the video to her boyfriend, the one who's getting custody of him...this part doesn't make sense because sometimes when this happens both parents are involved, and there are some cases where the mother videotapes it and sends it to the father, I don't know why, but if he wasn't a part of it why would she send it to him? Unless she is completely psycho and 'wasn't aware of what she was doing' or rather had no reason TO send HIM the video, but somehow I'm not convinced yet that that's the case.

if the tape exists, then I would vote death.... and as i stated before, that i am NOT a death penalty advocate except in cases of absolute no denying the guilt (which many would argue any guilty verdict says - beyond a reasonable doubt). When it comes to kids, we must protect them, they have to way to protect themselves!

I used to feel like that when my mother took my temperature when I was a little boy. If the woman is guilty, put her in prison.
