Re: Your First Credit Card
I was in my 40s and only got it so we could rent cars. I don't believe in credit cards and like to pay as I go along. Now my debit card takes the place of a credit card.

Re: Your First Credit Card
My first credit card was Amex, but I don't know if that counts because I was an extra cardholder on my dads account. The first one I got on my own was Macy's. I was 18 at the time. I've always been responsible with my credit cards.

I was 28 or 29, and it was a Mervyn's card.

Re: Your First Credit Card
Right after college. While still in college, I was constantly getting junk mailed pre-approved applications from credit card companies, but my parents strongly urged me to not take them up on it. Good thing I didn't, because I know a handful of people my age whose credit is still effed up from their college spending years.

Re: Your First Credit Card
I didn't get one until after I got married. I think it was a Sears card.

20. Bank of America. I've been pretty reasonable with my cards. You need them to build credit. Yeah, I ran that first one up, but I've always paid it down or off.

29, and it was JCPenneys. I haven't had it for a full year yet, I have a balance, but making my payments on time. They increased my limit a few months ago, so I must be doing something right.
