Panic Attacks/Anxiety

Have you ever suffered panic attacks or anxiety?

I don't know what it is, but lately when I go to lay down to sleep and am under covers, I suffer slight panic attacks and have to kick the covers off me. It's like for 3 seconds I feel overwhelmed, can't breath and it startles me. It's gotten so bad that I've started sleeping on my back....I usually sleep on stomach.

No but at night I often wind up kicking the covers off as fast as I put them on because I get too hot.

Now panic attacks, anxiety attacks, my mother and brother have had these, in crowded areas where it's hot and noisy and stuff, my brother would get them really bad, he'd go out to Wal-mart to get stuff and he'd start getting them in the store and have to leave his cart and just come home...thankfully he doesn't do that anymore but he and my mom do not like crowded places, whereas I on the other hand like being in them.

^^went through a period where I had extreme anxiety out in public when people I didn't know would get close to me. I felt overwhelmed & that need to "get away". It passed but was really unpleasant while it lasted.

Does your heart-rate kick up? If so then yes, it could very well be panic attacks triggered by a thyroid issue. Get it checked if it persists. They can also hit you unexpectedly at any time and can feel like a heartattack.

They are NOT fun.

I did get mild panic about six months after Mom died. I don't know what it was...I would just get batty. It was short lived. My armchair self-diagnosis is that I feared the year anniversary of her death that I acted goofy at month anniversaries of her passing. Maybe I am wrong, but I have never been that way again, even on the year anniversary.

Yes I do get panic attacks and believe me they are no fun. I don't get them often but I have had them enough to know that you literally want to throw yourself under a train if its really bad!
