A couple years ago, I got my laptop. Its a toshiba, and its still dead, I'm just thinking about it. I haven't been able to buy a new cord for it yet.

Re: Your first computer
My very first one was an old Commodore "Pet" computer when I was 8. My elementary school were selling them for $100 because they had bought brand new Apples. They were probably about 10 years old (obsolete) at that point....I PLEADED with my parents for one. And they went ahead and obliged.

In 1995 I was into writing for a decade (manual typewriter) and decided to upgrade. Was going to get a word processor typewriter but ppl told me to get a computer - I could submit my articles electronically online.
I got an IBM Aptiva with 4 megabytes of RAM. (everyone told me to get that and not the 2 mb that was still on the market)
It came with Word 3.1 on which I wrote articles and e-mailed the text to publishers and on which I did my little 54-page booklet "Nude Attitude."

Re: Your first computer
Around '96. My father had one before that, but that's when I got my own. I don't remember the exact make and model because it was a computer than he had a friend build for me. Worked just the same.

Re: Your first computer
My very own first computer was an HP desktop. I can't remember the model though. I got this back in 2001 as a Christmas gift from my parents.
