Making friends....

I'll be honest....most (probably ALL) of my friends came by way of them being the one to extend themselves to me first, or being introduced to them by other friends. A good friend of mine is uber-social, he can walk in a room full of strangers and walk out knowing about 1/2 the room. Me, I'm not like that at all. If someone extends themselves to me, I will respond and be cool. If I walk into a room of people I already know, I'm extroverted to a fault.....but if I'm around a bunch of strangers and none of them talk to me first.....then they're gonna keep on being strangers.

Do you make friends easily or do you just stay to yourself?

I make friends very easily now (early 20's, I was not outgoing at all). I like to get to know others and the difference now is that I have the confidence to know I have something to offer others. But I really dislike the whole process of exchanging pleasntries with folks just because we are in close proximity, like with dinner theater or sitting at a bar waiting for a table. That gets on my last nerve. I am not the type to have to work a room just because. I have a friend like that. I love her dearly, but I took her to a neighborhood rummage sale, and I swear she knew every seller's birthplace upon leaving their sale.

I make friends easily. I tend to like being around people, am comfortable around strangers, have a relaxed vibe and because of that I think others are comfortable around me. There's always going to those who're cold and rude, but if you decide that they don't matter then they don't matter.

Actually, it's a little of both. I'm just like you, I'll talk to people who will talk to me, but I don't bend over backwards trying to befriend someone. How outgoing I am with or without strangers all depends on my mood. I may be the fly on the wall or the life of the party. My personality, I like to observe. I notice everything. So it's like if you're a coworker and you just started on the job or if I'm at a party and I'm quiet, the minute you come up to me I already have you feeled out and can prob. tell you things about yourself you wouldn't think I would know.

I make friends pretty easily, I can go up to someone that I don't know and start a casual conversation. I am a bit on the shy side sometimes but people usually like me when they get to know me.

I have a hard time with those who are or seem like they could be unfriendly. If I don't get an assholio vibe from them, then I'm comfortable striking up a conversation with a stranger.

I guess I can make friends pretty easily.

I probably could but I choose to stick with the ones I already have.
