Fix oops! google chrome could not connect to errors

Google Chrome can be configured to save the browsing session on close so that the user can continue the session on the next startup. All websites and services that had been open in tabs are reopened on the next browser start. It sometimes happens that Google Chrome cannot open a website, displaying a dreaded “Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to” error instead.

Strange if the site was working fine some time ago. Users who check the website in another browser installed on the system would find out that the page loads and displays fine in that browser which leads to the only possible conclusion that it is a Google Chrome problem.

oops google chrome could not connect to

The majority of page loading problems are a result of the DNS Fetching in Google Chrome. DNS Pre-fetching stores information in the browser to speed up the loading of websites in Chrome. It can, under certain circumstances, result in connection problems. This can happen if a wrong or outdated DNS is stored in the browser for the website in question.

DNS Fetching speeds up page loading by about 250ms. Chrome users who experience connection difficulties regularly might want to try turning the feature off to see if it resolves the issues.

This is done in the Chrome options. A click on the Wrench icon in the upper right corner and the selection of Options opens the settings window of the web browser.

dns pre fetching

Load the Under the Bonnet tab and locate the entry Use DNS pre-feching to improve page load performance. Remove the checkmark from that setting to disable DNS fetching in the browser. The websites with connection issues should load fine immediately.

Also under options, my computer says, "Under the Hood" not "Under the Bonnet". so I might not be able to locate what their saying, if its worded differently on my computer as well.

It's no different Tony sad sad news

This is what Firefox says:

"The server at www.google.com is taking too long to respond."

"The server at search.yahoo.com is taking too long to respond." Again it'll open up the yahoo home page, but won't let me do a search.

Try uninstalling the program, then re-installing it.

I'm having problems with every web browser I have.

At first I only had Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, they both weren't working. So Tony recommended Firefox, so I installed that browser. That's not working as well.

Okay, uninstall them, and then re-install them....re-instal with the latest versions. You prob. have to clean up your registry as well.

Ok, I uninstalled Google Chrome and FireFox, it wouldn't let me uninstall IE, and then shut laptop completely down.

I just reinstalled Firefox, nothing has changed.

I can't even get to the Google Chrome home page to reinstall that. I'm doing an AVG search (through Internet Explorer), it tells me, Oops! Page not found.

Ok so I did another search (from work computer) for the "oops! Google chrome cannot connect to...." and ran across this...

http://ph.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101026033216AAUpD8t

And the lady is having my same problem but says she can do a search in www.google.com.ph... Now I typed that into address into the firefox web address, and google pop ups! Now I don't know what language this is in, but I can search anything like no problems.

So what's up with my regular Google/Yahoo?

I'm sick of trying things and getting no results or weird ones. I guess I really don't need the search engines much on my laptop, If I really need to search for something, then I can wait and use work computer. Its just frustrating. I'm tellin ya, only me. CHEAPS Sigh

CHEAPS Wendy+williams+i+can't

BTW: THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND INPUT TONY AND MS NY!! I APPRECIATED IT! big hugz

Yea, well one of my co-workers was able to get my Google Chrome back, and he got rid of alot of useless programs on my computer and installed something called CCleaner, which he thought would have helped, but nothings changed.

I can use Google Chrome (which I like and am used to) I just cant do any searches.

I tried doing a virus search, but that didnt help either. We'll see what's up.
