In my experience........not really.
I've never been past a 2nd date with somebody who had a polar opposite personality to mine.

For all intents and purposes, opposites don't attract. Unless the two opposites are soul mates, they are either going to bore or annoy one another.

On the other hand, opposites tend to have great sex with each other.

There are exceptions but I think pretty much that just applies to magnets.

My husband and I are quite opposite. It can be frustrating but most of our differences compliment one another, and we do have some common ground.

Jim and I had quite different personalities. We had common philosophy and were into many things in common, but he came from a much different experience than I.

With that he taught me a lot and he was the one that pushed us to travel the world. So, in many ways we were opposite and we stayed attracted for 5 years.

Brenda and I were also very opposite in our life experience and we had some differences, such as she was not vegetarian and not a nudist, but we fell for each other and spent two decades together.
