If you grew up living with both parents, would you say that your father was more 'in charge' than your mother?

My stepfather was in my life from the age of 6. It was my mom who dealt with us kids but he was the 'breadwinner' and mom stayed at home most of the time.

I remember when she got a job at the school cafeteria and they had to see if it was worth it taxwise.

My mom didn't take too much bossing and I remember the hole in the kitchen wall where a cast iron skillet hit it instead of my dad's head. So, that shows the limits of him being 'head' of the house.

^ He thought he was, but whenever his back was turned, Mom always set things straight.

Well, my mother was the disciplinarian. My father never spanked us. Looking back on it, I wouldn't say my father had that alpha male personality, but I knew my limits. Same with my mother. They were equal for the most part.
