Do cynics & pessimists get on your nerves?

It's not wise to bury your head in the sand or live in a constant state of naivete, but people who are always skeptical and actively look for the negative side of things annoy the shit out of me sometimes. How disappointing has your life been to always doubt every intention?

I consider myself more of a pessimist, but still have a limit to negativity in people. I'm more annoyed by eternal optimists.

I'm the cynic, my brother's the pessimist and he DOES get VERY annoying with his 'everything's bad' attitude, you know one little thing goes wrong and suddenly the whole day is ruined.

I think the majority of them just need more fiber in their diet. Or some dick/pussy.

I do get annoyed with those seeming to always be down and out about something.

That shit is annoying. I'm realizing now that I'm dealing with a pessimist and it's not easy. He's had a difficult upbringing and cannot fathom someone being nice to him without a motive. He also makes it seem like I should give his bad behavior leeway because of what he's been through in life. Um....newsflash, I don't remember making you do any of that shit!

Who really wants to be around someone who bites your head off and interrogates you for being nice? No matter what I do to try to make him feel better, he can't appreciate it. He constantly complains about things he can change and God forbid something happens that he can't control. People like that need space to figure their shit out. For the record, this is a friendship that's on it's way to dissolution, cuz I can't take the negativity anymore!
