One of my co-workers, who is now in his late forties, fathered a child when he was fourteen years old; ironically, he's against teenagers being issued birth control, because he thinks it's giving them permission to have sex. Does this make any sense to you? That someone who was sexually active as a teenager (and probably didn't use any BC) and experienced the repercussions of sex without protection would have an anti-birth control/teens control attitude?

Does it make sense for a teenage parent to be against giving teenagers birth control?

It doesn't make much sense to me. Since his own son is probably in his early 30's, I don't see why he would want any future grandchildren to not go down the same path he did by having a child too early.

He's a hypocrite. He had sex without birth control so whether you give it to them are not, its going to happen anyway. The only thing bc does stop you from procreating.

Eh, it depends. If he instead favors them being advised to exercise control of their libido because birth control can fail, then no, that's smart. It'd be more hypocritical to say that they should be given BC, IMO, because that can lead to the same situation. (And often does.)
Teens need to be taught true responsibility, which birth control never teaches. So nope, don't find it all that strange. Birth control is a foolish illusion sweeping a world of fools. lol

I completely disagree. Teenagers who use birth control are exercising responsibility IMO. Moreso than those who are sexually active and don't.

Thought I don't necessarily agree with him, I understand his logic. He thinks birth-control is a gateway to more promiscuity. But there's more at risk than just pregnancy and that's diseases, which The Pill doesn't do a damn thing for. The boys always require condoms.

That doesn't make sense, it's like the guys on TV who say if you tell a kid about sex, the facts are going to make them want to run out and do it. Makes no sense whatsoever once they get the whole ugly picture.
