My Grandmother passed away a few hours ago but I'm on the other side of the country from the rest of my family. I'm trying to think of an uplifting biblical scripture to text the rest of my family who I know is going to be broken up about this today, but I can't think of anything. Any suggestions from you bible thumpers out there?

Sorry for your loss, but can't think of any sage scriptures that are comforting in dealing with the passing of a loved one.

Psalm 30:5
Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit
Psalm 71:20-21
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Hope these help, and sorry about your loss.

Re: Uplifting Scripture?
IDK what your family is. If they are not Catholic, this passage won't work for them but if they are, there should be no problem. Wisdom 3:1-10.
Isaish 40: 1-11 could work, particularly: "The grass withers and the flower falls but the word of God will endure forever." Again, all subjective.
From the New Testament: 2 Corinthians 4:14-5:1 could be a good one.

Re: Uplifting Scripture?
Sorry for your loss, Captain!
Here's one we used for my Mother in law when she died:
Revelation 21: 1-6
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Re: Uplifting Scripture?
I ended up using Rev 21:4. It seemed pretty short, powerful and to the point in a text message. Thanks for the condolences again.
