| I think a show should run for as long as the ratings are good. If I don't like it I don't have to keep watching. It's hard to maintain when writers & actors leave. We've all probably had a favorite show that brought in new writers & we feel like they have no understanding of certain characters. It's frustrating. But 5-7 seems to be about right for a good show before it starts to lose people & go downhill. | |

| Just as soon as they start rehashing old plots. That usually starts to happen around season 7. Few shows should go longer than 10 seasons. | |

| Yeah....when the show stops being good. And if you're going to cast different people and not keep it original, then I guess you can start phasing it out then too. | |

You see that a lot with long running drama series. When the writers begin running out of ideas, just cancel the show already. | |
