'Idol' Hopeful Sings for Brain-Damaged Girlfriend

It's a little early for me to settle on just one. They are really putting these eliminations on the fast track. The rest of the top 24 being announced tonight. Then after the next show cutting 11 for the top 13. But the contestants are better this year than last I think. I had to quit early on. There are only a couple of them that I just don't like. But I don't think they'll go very far anyway.

Every year they say this is the best talent they have ever had lol, but this year I think it is actually true.

I think so too. I've actually been impressed. Some of those cuts have to be difficult although I know they will still put some through just for entertainment value so people can say "WHY is ______ still here?!!!!" But overall it's shaping up pretty good.

I love these new judges! They are a vast improvement over drugged-out Paula who never said anything worthwhile, and nasty Simon, who never gave constructive criticism. "You sounded like someone's uncle who got drunk at a Bar Mitzvah" is hardly constructive. It may have made for funny television, but it sucked for the contestants.

This year the kids actually do seem to be improving from week to week, and that's in large part because the judges, especially Jennifer, are giving them honest feedback about what was right and what needs tweaking.

My favs are Casey and Lauren.

Probably the Josh Turner impersonator who will put out a mildly successful cd, bomb with the next one & then fade into oblivion.

Are you watching this season?

I tried to watch the first auditions but it's just not doing it for me.

I would watch the show but its on for way too long. 5 months is not worth watching a show that could wrap up in 2 months. I will give it a watch here and there but I will not follow it faithfully.

I'm over American Idol. I just don't care no more.

I'm not even remembering to watch the auditions. Fork time for me.
