    An alternate title might be: "Am I Responsible" A disturbing uncomfortable and very hard film to watch.

    While the story surrounds Kevin ( played by 3 actors at varying ages) a psycho who goes on a high school killing spree. It's really about his mother Eva (Tilda Swinton) and how she deals with the truth. A hatred seemed to exist from birth. Did she even want Kevin? The film spans over 18 years, much inside her tormented head.

    Kevin 's father (John C Reilly) downplays his behavior. The few connections they seem to share is archery, which turns out to be Kevin's weapon of choice. There is little doubt that we are watching a horror film.


    Tilda Swinton offers a masterpiece performance. I just hope the structure of the film doesn't hurt her Oscar opportunities. The film is obsessed with too many imagines and styles. The message is overstated and the narrative isn't always persuasive. The use of jumping back and forth wasn't always satisfying.
