Have you ever been inside a store and found the music so off-putting or annoying that you wound up leaving?

Have you ever had to leave a public place because of the music playing on the loudspeakers?

It's never that serious. I don't go into stores to listen to music, so most of the time I'm tuning out what's playing overhead anyway.

After a long day of shopping, I have left Abercrombie due to the music. It was so loud and I was already crabby.

I have strolled by boutiques at the mall that were playing rock music and decided to not go in because of it. It wasn't the TYPE of music (per sé) but rather the volume. No one wants to get their eardrums blown out in exchange for browsing at a store.

Re: Have you ever had to leave a public place because of the music playing on the loudspeakers?
No. One day I was in a store in a tourist town that was playing hard rap (very offensive lyrics) loud enough to get on my nerves; however, another ballsy customers went up and asked the guy behind the counter to please turn the volume down. And he actually switched it off. As the manager of a store that draws in people of all ages, I would not want the kind of music blaring in it.

This hasn't ever happened to me, but if I found the music that annoying I probably would leave if I was only browsing and wasn't buying anything in particular.
