It is a difficult situation. Around here (maybe nationwide?) there are laws about certain distances from schools and daycares. But that becomes counterproductive because that really limits them, so certain areas become highly populated by those on the registry, therefore bringing down property values.

My brother's theory is that like all the pedophiles, ship them out to a island in the middle of nowhere.

They can live anywhere they want, just so long as they're registered and people are aware of them. I wouldn't care if a sex offender lived near me. Just let him keep his distance and everything would be fine.
