Where would you go if you could travel through time?

I went to the park by my house a few days ago and as I stared at the trees, road and whatnot, I wondered what the scene (the park, the road, and the whole area itself) looked like back in the 1970s, with the big ass cars. I wouldn't go too far in the past, but I think I would travel back to a few decades ago, just to see how life looked back then versus today.

I would take a time machine back to days of Lincoln freeing the slaves. I want to observe how that town hall went down.

I'd want to go back to Coney Island during the early 1900s.

I am fairly content in the modern era. I doubt I'd go back more than a few decades.

That would be it. I'm not remotely interested in what life was back in the 17th, 18th, etc century. That's what history books are for.Doesn't seem interesting at all.

It's said that 1968 is the most significant year of the 20th century. I think I'd be interested in going back in time to see first hand the reality of its time.

You bet. I'd love to experience first hand what that whole radial, tumultuous, psychedelic time was like. I always felt those later Woodstock concerts in the 90s seemed somewhat farcical.

I would take a trip back to the 1920s, and visit Harlem's Cotton Club.

Both had little to no cultural relevance, at least no where near the '69 event. But Woodstock '94 was a great concert. '99 was an abomination and enough for the attendees of the original concert to turn their noses up at this generation that came behind them.

I had a dream a few weeks back that I was inside my house, but it was the year '1970.' It was interesting to see how different my house looked back then (via my subconscious mind's perception of how it would have.) In reality, my house was built in 1965, so it still had that 'new' quality to it.
To reiterate what I said a year ago, the modern day 1970s is where I'd turn the dial back to if I could time travel.

I'm not so eager to visit a time from the past. I would want to see an event.
The first performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Stand at the bottom of the cross Hear Lincoln deliver the Gettysburg Address and his two inaugural speeches Be on the grassy knoll on 11/23/63 See a performance of one of Shakespeare's plays at The Globe theater Woodstock '69 would be most cool A live show of any of my favorite bands from the 60s at their peak MLK's "I have a dream" speech

Hey, that works for me too. I could even compare Woodstock with Atlanta 1970.

I'd also love to go back to 1960 and be in the audience when Psycho premiered and see what everybody's reactions would be, same for Night of the Living Dead in 1968, The Exorcist in 1973, and When A Stranger Calls in 1979.

As long as I could get back to my own time, I'd like to go see my great grandparents. I never had a chance to know them. I'd also like to see the Old Country, so I'd go back maybe 100 years... shoot - just realized I cna't say that anymore - lol - I'd have to go back 110 years or so to see my great grandparents in the old country.
