PostSubject: a REALLY nice gesture today!   a REALLY nice gesture today! EmptyThu Dec 29, 2011 2:32 am

I work with a group of 20 people, including my brother. Every month I organize a party for anyone who has a birthday during that month. Last year and this year I organized the christmas party. Apparently they enjoyed this year's Christmas party so much that they gave me a $100 gift certificate to Kohls (my fav store) and a beautiful silver ornament from Things Remembered engraved "love all your friends at the post office"

It was such an incredibly nice gesture that I am absolutely beaming!

From now on, I will try to go out of my way to show appreciation to those who deserve it! It's the best gift I got this year! Smile

That is so very cool! That gift card rocks as does the ornament! Let us know what you get at Kohls!

GOOD! Glad to hear that your efforts are appreciated.

In my early years at my job we had a woman that I referred to as "the sunshine girl" because she always initiated birthday acknowledgments, service anniversaries, deaths . . . And yet a lot of people criticized her for it. Used to piss me off.

In time I threw a surprise for her, just for her being her. Good reception and she loved it.

That's sweet. It's nice when people show their appreciation in a way that you didn't see coming.
