My ma is about 5'3" I believe, and my dad was only few inches taller than her.
I was told I get my tallness from my grandpa on my ma's side.

My dad was 6', which was considered tall in his day. But he looked even taller than that because he was very lean, stood up straight, and wore hats.
Mom was merely 4'11", if that, and quite chubby.
When I was a kid I used to call them "hamburger and hotdog".
