When you were in high school, what was your opinion of jocks?

Girls/Gay guys: did you wanna date them?
Guys: did you want to be friends with them?

Or did they annoy you?

I was friends with a couple of Jocks in school. Did I want to date them, no, it was easier to ignore them when they became their obnoxious selves.

When I was in school jocks were actually on some team, wore varsity letters and were no better or worse than us invisible nerds, just in different circles. I don't recall any bullying like happens these days. Jocks were content to land the prettiest (often shallowest) girls and we hung out with girls who appreciated warped humor and fantasy conversations.

Annoy, probably. That didn't mean squat to me when I was pretty teenager. The more I've talked to male classmates in later years, the more I think I was a bit of an enigma to them.

I mean, they were students who played sports. I wasn't envious of them and no, I don't remember wanting to date any of them either. I was cool with a few though.

I dated a few actually. Never had a problem with jocks. If anything was annoying about them, it was how friend-bound they tended to be, so when you dated one you were dating the rest of their clique at the same time.
