When I was in college, I worked the front desk at Bally Total Fitness. That one sucked. People never like to hear that they have a late fee.

Re: Job(s) You Liked the Least
When I was a young man, just getting out of the Air Force I went to Mississippi where my family was in the oil drilling business. Got a job on a rig and lasted about a month. Didn't really hate the job, but it wasn't for me.
So, I went to New Orleans answered a newspaper ad and got a sales job with the Grolier Society, selling encyclopedias door to door. They would take us out to a 'burb and drop us off. I suck as selling. I was raised in the 'burbs and knew how to dispatch salesmen from our door, so I had that to overcome.
Anyhow, this was an aggressive bunch of marketers who berated us in the evening if we didn't make a sale that day. I decided that was it. I set my alarm to wake me the next morning just so I could say "fuck it" and go back to sleep.
That is the job I hated most, worse than sweeping the French Market and cleaning public restrooms.

I've had several cashier jobs that weren't fun.

Assembling micro-parts for an electronics plant is the one I hated most. They were difficult, labor-intensive parts that required a lot of patience, too much sitting, and I hated getting up so early to be there.
Waiting tables isn't on my list of favorites, either, but I can think of more positives to that one.

I would hate that job, too. It must be hard enough to get the door slammed on your face more often than not, and to have a bully for a boss is even worse.

The job at the chicken processing place I couldn't eat chicken for a while after that. When I go to the store I still sometimes have to put those images out of my mind. Even worse than working for the public which is a very close second.

Tell me about it....I used to work at Blockbuster Video, although I used to get secret satisfaction out of telling them they owed money and when they bitched and complained, it would just make my tone all the more matter of fact.

Re: Job(s) You Liked the Least
I worked two weeks for a radon testing/correction "company". Basically I was a secretary for a con man. He was indian with a doctorate from Univ of PA in environmental sciences. He would go to communities and do demonstrations, scaring people into get radon tested for like $300 a kit. He would tell them at the meeting that they only needed one kit per house, but told me to put as many as 2-3 kits per house, upping his profits. Most of the people were poor, and really believed everything he said. i was 19, and trying to convince these people that i was a "trained technician". Turned out that when i quit, he with held taxes from my check but never sent it to the feds! He also had a tendency to rub my shoulders and back---blamed me for a bunch of shit he never told me about. I don't know if his domineering attitude was because he was from another culture and I was female... but i said the hell with that shit!
