| Smoke detector and CO detector. And you should change the batteries twice a year. A good rule of thumb is change them when you change your clocks during the daylight savings changes. | |

| I have one in my apartment and I don't think it has batteries. If it does someone comes in here and changes them because I never have. Been here over six years and the thing works everytime I heat my cast iron skillet too hot and I have to hit the reset button.
It really doesn't matter because I doubt it would wake me up - the high pitch is a barely audible tone for me. (I have to use a windup alarm clock because the little squeak on the electric ones doesn't do it for me) | |

| We have 3 detectors and I don't know but I think we changed the batteries a couple months back. | |

| Mine doesn't have batteries, I don't think. Usually what will happen is when the batteries get weak, those things will begin to squeak. I have been in my apartment for years and it has never done this. | |
