what do you spend money on?

Shale just posted that he spent close to $500 this year on movies. At work we had a conversation about how each of us spend money on different things that are important to us. One friend enjoys collecting Coach bags, one friend spends a ton of money on traveling to exotic places, and i spend money on my cars. One alkie in work said that he once spent $500 in 24 hours on drinks during a cruise.

I kinda justify my spending on the fact that i dont drink, smoke, or do drugs... so i might as well enjoy myself.

do you have something that you spend money on or collect??

I'd say vacations, and I know that a lot of people wonder how we "do" it. I put away cash from my paychecks every month. Daily coins in my purse all go into their own can (you'd be surprised at how fast it grows). Because of it we live on a tight budget. We occasionally go to a night club, see a movie, have dinner out, and play some pool during winter.

My extravagance are cds. I spend probably around $300 per year for cds. A worse concern is storage space, though I've managed to make an interesting storage system in my livingroom.

My sis actually paid her kid's school tuition thru change... how she did it i dont know.. cause i never collect that much change. But there were quite a few times that i drove her once a month and she had hundreds and hundreds of dollars in one month!

I probably spend more a year on DVD's than movies. I go to matinees and they cost $7.50. I usually save the receipts in a pile in case they don't work right, so I probably could get that figure, but I'm afraid to.

I just went over 600 DVD's in my collection.

But other than that, I live quite frugally. Not owning a car saves a lot.

yeah... car insurance in NJ sucks!

I used to collect CD's but I don't buy many anymore, I lost count after 400. I buy a lot of DVD's and now Blu Ray movies.

I spend money to live. I spend money to enjoy. I spend money to entertain. I don't collect anything.

I justify mine on the fact I'm home far more than I would like & life is too damn short to not enjoy. I figure if I ever have an actual "deathbed" I won't be commenting about how glad I am I didn't buy that $4 movie from Amazon.

Books definitely, seconded by junk food, third would be movies, and fourth would be CDs.

yeah... south jersey.. outside of philadelphia... so "I wawlk the dawg when i come home from the mawll." lol

but 2yrs ago I made a ton of money on OT cause the weather was so terrible in the winter, even got 3 paid days off because of it.... i still went in during the blizzards and did 12 hrs, but got vacation days later.

Dont want that again... especially with my new car! so thanks for your well wishes!!!!!
