still afraid of ur parents?

My mother hates smoking and cursing... my sisters are in their 50s and in their OWN houses, will hide in a bedroom and smoke so as not to have my mom see them. The claim it is respect, but if you saw how frantic they acted, I swear it is more fear.

are you still afraid of your parents? Is there anything that they find unacceptable that you do?

When they were still around, it was difficult to talk about serious stuff. They both wanted to chat about neighbors, the pets, and even each other. They refused to discuss politics or social issues so I had to keep these on mute whenever they were visiting.

A few things yeah. I quickly learned to stop telling her about what all music I listen to after I got the 'do WE like rap?' lecture when I was 13, and that was Will Smith, to say she wouldn't approve of some other artists I listen to would be the understatement of the year.

As a child, yes, and that's why I did a lot of sneaky things. (And did a lot of things I deserved punishment for.)

As an adult I wasn't afraid enough, because I didn't hide that much from my mother whether she approved of something or not. But I didn't disclose everything to her, either ~ hell, I don't do that with friends.

I wish my grandmother was still around so I could be afraid of her. Actually once I was married we were great friends.

There was a certain Fear that was in me growing up from my father and I guess to a degree I have carried it into adulthood to a point where I may still fear some things but I do what I want to do.

My mother got sick and had to move into MY house. Once settled, she stayed about 5yrs longer than necessary and constantly violated my privacy.

One day while rooting thru my things, she found a pair of handcuffs and some flavored lotion. She came to me and asked, "Are you into kinky sex or something". I was about 30 and didnt think it any of her business. I looked straight at her and said "Yeah, now what?" She replied, "you're gonna wake up with your throat slit!" And i shocked the crap out of her when I said, "First off, if my throat is slit, i couldnt wake up. Second--Who says that the handcuffs go on me????"

I swear that old lady almost died right there---went in her room for 2wks and did not come out.

My mother found my porn stash when she called herself cleaning out my closet and organizing my room. I know she found it cause the DVDs were on top if all the others. She didn't say anything to me about, but its whatever. I'm a grown woman. She knows she can't say anything. The Damn woman sniffed out my condoms too!

I was never afraid of my parents either, but there are certain things I do not say in front of them out of respect...well, that goes for my mother and grandmother. I have way more leeway with my father and grandfather. I guess that's a guy thing.
