My only experience with it was basically through my son. He had a young lady friend who he thought the world of. She was a bit older than most people entering university however she followed her best friend to school. After only about 1 and 1/2 years she collapsed in class one day. She had a heart attack, at the hospital they of course undressed her and found she weighed only 90 pounds. She was sent to a place that specialized in anorexia. She was allowed to come home for Xmas last year and visited our son, he said she was thin but she did eat what he cooked for her and didn't go to the bathroom right away. So everyone's hopes were up. She returned to the place and in about a month she was dead at 27 years old. They found hundreds of quarters in her clothing, apparently that is a way to make it look like they are gaining weight. She was a lovely girl and her best friend who became a lawyer this past summer and her family are hoping that they can find something to sue her last boyfriend for, he kept telling her that she was too fat! She realized too late that he was an abusive man. Her family, friends and my son were devastated by her death.
