Downsizing and layoffs

Have there been any layoffs (or cut hours) at your job recently? If so, are you concerned that you could be affected by it sooner or later?

We haven't had any, I'm not too concerned our staff is pretty small, I'm sure, if my boss does let someone go, it'll be one of the newer employees. But there's not much downsizing he can do. He's tried before and does not like working the front.

No layoffs but no one is ever completely safe so you never know.

I'm in Florida, state with one of the highest numbers of jobless. We have not hired to fill a vacancy so several of us are doing extra work to fill in.

Of course I got attitude because I took a 25% pay cut. I'm sure the CEO who did that wanted me to quit, but in this economy I am stuck with it - because there ain't anything better.
