Eh, I think it was just a reflex measure. In the long run, it's prob. not a good idea or even necessary. So many scenarios could happen with that. There are security measures that makes is difficult for a gun or any other weapon to get on the plane by a passenger. So why do you need to carry? What if you get a passenger who overpowers you and takes the gun from you? And add the fact that the cockpits are locked during the entire flight. Nobody is going to bum rush the cockpit. It's not necessary. And do you know that pilot are allowed to drink before a flight? And you want to add a firearm in the mix? LOL. Nah.
