I went to the library today and while I was picking up the second Perry Mason book, I saw on the next shelf was a mystery novel called Nursery Crimes. Curiosity got to me so I checked out the summary and something occurred to me.
During the Casey Anthony trial we heard about how she made up this character Zanny the Nanny and that Zanny took the baby, Zanny killed the baby, etc., and everybody was thinking Zanny as a nickname for Xanax which she might've been doping Caylee up with to keep her quiet...this is not I don't think a popular name by any means...so I was surprised to see that this book, which came out in 1986, which if my math is right, would be the year Casey Anthony was born, is about an evil little girl named Zanny who murders younger children and nobody can stop her and her parents just wait to hear that some other unfortunate child has died in their daughter's presence.
Connection? Probably not, but I find it damn interesting.
