Just because she's a woman? Outdated. Unless a woman has her hands full or is incapacitated she can open her own door. I hold the door for people out of courtesy. Probably more guys than women.

i like it. It is a way of showing respect and consideration. I think part of the problems with our society is that people do not respect each other anymore. The world would be a much better place with a little kindness and consideration.

I will hold open entrance doors for women, but I am not that diligent when it comes to pulling out chairs and opening car doors.

For the question at hand, I do not make special efforts because the person is a woman. Men get the same kindness and consideration from me.

See it as more a courtesy but not mandatory. I will hold open the door if I get to it first but most of the time I will do that for anybody.
