Would you be happy living next door to, or on the same street as, your parents?

Re: Living next door to your parents
for quite some time, both my sister/their husbands lived on the same street as my mom (i was a teen). It was awesome cause the whole family was always together. We had a creek in the back yard and would go fishing in the boat, then come home and have dinner. In the morning, all of us would go to my one sister's house for breakfast and like 10 of us would eat then go off to school and work. After school/work, back to Gail's for dinner!
It was awesome but short lived... life has a way of f*#$ing things up.

It wouldn't make much difference to me. As long as I still had my own place.

It would have been an absolute disaster for me/us.
And it didn't work out so well when we lived within blocks of my first in-laws.

Hell no! Would never wanna live in the same neighborhood as my folks. If I can live in a different city I would.

Naw, living in the same town with my ma is good enough, she's far enough away, but not too far.

It would be okay but I've already decided when I get my own place I'm taking her with me.

What would be the sense of moving out then? I would rather live a short distance away.

The thought of living next door to my mom or dad isn't one that entices me. I could tolerate living in the same city, but would prefer different neighborhoods.

Re: Living next door to your parents
When Mom was still alive, Dad would talk about selling their place and buying a duplex for them and me. That would probably suck, but it would have been nice to have the free childcare when my son was younger!
In all honesty, the biggest reason I did not want to see that happen is that my parents have friends in their home town. A LOT of friends. Here, they wouldn't make many and be totally dependant on me for entertainment.

Re: Living next door to your parents
Just the thought is depressing. I moved out for a reason.
