Is there a certain food that you have noticed has increased in price recently?

Peanut-Butter. I knew it was going to. One of my neighbors is a grocery store manager, and he informs us when certain goods will soon mark up in price. I bought several jars of the peanut-butter right away.

    Coffee is another one.

Peanut butter definitely. Candy bars, used to be 40 cents, then 50, now 0.75-$1.00. And GET THIS ONE, it used to be you could get a 10 pack of mini candy bars for $1, then it was 8 for $1, now the 8 packs are $1.25 and now they've come out with SIX PACKS of minis for $1.00. Another one, bread, used to be the generic loaves we get were 90 cents, $1.00, now $1.92 a loaf. And eggs, $1 for 6 and we get the 18 packs. And bananas, used to be 30 cents a pound, now 90 cents a pound.

what pisses me off is the stuff like supernova was talking about... the price goes UP but the quantity is going down. Like tuna, it used to be a 6 oz can, now they are 5.3 oz. Ice cream used to be half gallons, now they are like 1.5 qt or something like that... but it costs more than the bigger sizes.

And $2 is cheap for bread... that is the SALE price here.. normally like $3.25 or something like that

    For generic bread?

The Dollar General here had all the candy 8 packs for a dollar, which was a relief because Wal-Mart is now all 6 packs or Hershey 8 packs for $1.25, and now Dollar General is starting to follow suit, 8 packs of Hershey, KitKat and Reeses are all up a quarter, I'm thinking I might need to stock up before they decide to move out the 8 packs and trade them in for 6's.

Totally. Milk here actually went up to $4.50 this summer and is only down to $4.35 at the local store but $3.90 at Dollar General so we get it there.

prices here are really varied. Acme markets seem to be really expensive... butter is $5 a pound, but shoprite will put it on sale for $2.50. But the sale price USED to be $1.66

They do this stuff and think we won't notice?
